Latin GRAMMY Prediction Markets: A Miami Reader's Guide

The Academy has a Miami office, but the ceremony is in Las Vegas. Here is what the official nominees, Academy voting and contract wording can and cannot tell you.

The short answer

Latin GRAMMY prediction markets are event contracts that ask whether a named nominee wins a named award. Start with the Latin Recording Academy's official nominee list, then read the contract's category, settlement source and fees. A price shows what traders think. It is not an Academy vote, and the ceremony is in Las Vegas even though the Academy has a Miami office.

Where things stand

  • Ceremony: the 27th Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards are on Thursday, November 12, 2026, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, airing live on Univision. The Academy has not posted a start time and says more broadcast partners will be announced.
  • Nominees: announced on September 16 in 60 categories. The Academy notes that the list can still be modified.
  • Album Of The Year nominees: Equilibrivm (Anitta), Free Spirits (CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso), Taracá (Jorge Drexler), Vendrán Suaves Lluvias (Silvana Estrada), Tropicoqueta (Karol G), Femme Fatale (Mon Laferte), Muda (Carín León), La Vida Era Más Corta (Milo J), ¿Dónde Es El After? (Rawayana) and Lux (Complete Works) (Rosalía).
  • Voting: the final round, in which Academy voting members choose the winners, opened on October 1 and closes on October 12.
  • Kalshi listings: Kalshi lists Latin GRAMMY winner markets in 18 categories, including Album Of The Year, Record Of The Year, Song Of The Year and Best New Artist. Each nominee has its own contract, and each category also has a "Tie" contract.
  • Polymarket US listings: we found no Latin GRAMMY market in its market data. Its culture section lists markets on the separate GRAMMY Awards, which is a different show. For Polymarket US and for OG, check the app for current listings.
  • Florida status: Kalshi and Polymarket US are Available (as of October 7, 2026) to eligible Florida residents. We found no Florida enforcement action against prediction markets. The state's gaming regulator says online sports gaming outside the Seminole Tribe's sportsbooks is "most likely" illegal, and it does not name prediction markets. Our Florida status guide has the detail.

Dates come from the Latin Recording Academy's awards calendar and its nominees announcement.

Why cover the Latin GRAMMYs from Miami if the ceremony is in Las Vegas?

The Latin Recording Academy has an office in Miami, and its nominee announcement was issued from Miami. That gives local readers a real link to the organization behind the awards. The show itself is in Las Vegas, so this is a Miami view of a national music event, not a local event listing.

The useful local question is a practical one: how does a Florida reader separate the Academy's official facts from the wording of a contract? Our entertainment and pop culture markets guide covers awards markets more broadly.

Which award categories should a reader compare?

Start with the Academy's official nominee list. It lists Record Of The Year, Album Of The Year, Song Of The Year and Best New Artist as separate categories, and each has its own nominees.

The same name can appear in more than one place. Femme Fatale is nominated as an album, as a record and as a song. Song Of The Year goes to the songwriters, while Record Of The Year is for the recording. A contract names one category and one nominee, so a headline about an artist tells you nothing about a contract on a specific album or song.

Spelling can differ too. A platform may shorten a title, so match it against the Academy's list before you trade.

Who chooses the Latin GRAMMY winners?

The Academy's voting members do. Entries are first screened for eligibility and category placement, which the Academy says is not an artistic judgment. Voting members then pick the nominees and, in the final round, the winners. In the four general categories there are 10 nominees each, apart from Best New Artist, which has 11 this year.

Traders do not cast Academy votes by buying a contract. A market price is a view about the result. It is not a tally of members' ballots and it is not a fan vote.

How do Kalshi's Latin GRAMMY contracts settle?

We read the rules on Kalshi's Latin GRAMMY markets and its awards contract terms. A contract resolves Yes if the named nominee is officially announced as the winner of the named award at the 2026 Latin GRAMMY Awards. The Latin Recording Academy is listed as the settlement source, and the contract terms also name major news and entertainment outlets.

  • Tie: if two nominees tie, the "Tie" contract resolves Yes and every other contract in the category resolves No.
  • Withdrawal or disqualification: that nominee's contract resolves No.
  • Postponement: the contract stays open until the rescheduled ceremony, or for one year from the original date, whichever comes first.
  • Cancellation: if the show is cancelled entirely, contracts resolve at a last fair price that Kalshi determines.
  • Later changes: a revision made after the contract expires does not change the settlement.
  • Honorary awards: lifetime achievement and special awards do not count toward a category contract.

Kalshi's market notes also state that the markets are not endorsed by or affiliated with the Latin GRAMMY Awards. Other platforms write their own rules, so read the rule on the contract you are actually trading.

How should you read an awards-contract price?

Read the full question first, then the price. Example: a made-up Yes contract on a fictional album winning a named award is quoted at 30 cents. That suggests a market-implied chance of about 30%, before fees. It does not tell you how Academy members voted. If the album does not win, the contract pays nothing and the 30 cents is lost. This example is invented and is not a real listing.

Awards markets can also be thin. With few traders, one order can move a price a long way, so a price in a quiet category carries less information than one in a busy market.

What should you check before making a trade?

  1. Match the contract to the official category and the exact nominee or work.
  2. Read the settlement source and what happens in a tie, a withdrawal or a postponement.
  3. Check the fees and how much is trading in that category.

If the wording differs from the award you had in mind, step back. Our how to trade guide explains order types, the glossary defines the terms, and the responsible trading page covers limits.

Which platforms can Florida readers check?

For culture markets, start with Kalshi, then Polymarket US, then OG. Kalshi's, Polymarket US's and OG's minimum age is 18; we recommend 21+. Access to a platform does not mean it lists a given category or nominee, so confirm the listing in the app before anything else.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Latin GRAMMY ceremony in Miami?

The ceremony is in Las Vegas, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. The Miami connection is the Latin Recording Academy's office in the city.

When are the Latin GRAMMYs and where can I watch?

The 27th Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards are on Thursday, November 12, 2026, and air live on Univision. The Academy has said more broadcast partners will be announced.

Are Latin GRAMMY winners chosen by fans or by traders?

Neither. The Latin Recording Academy's voting members cast the ballots that decide the winners. Buying a contract has no effect on that vote.

Is Album Of The Year the same market as Song Of The Year?

They are separate categories with separate nominees, and a contract covers only the category it names. Check which category and which work the contract actually lists.

What happens to a contract if two nominees tie?

On Kalshi, each category has a "Tie" contract. Under its awards contract terms, a tie resolves the "Tie" contract to Yes and every other contract in that category to No. Other platforms may handle a tie differently, so read the rule first.

Can a market price tell us how Academy members voted?

It cannot. A price reflects what traders think. The winners are decided by Academy members' ballots and announced at the ceremony.

Can Florida residents trade Latin GRAMMY contracts?

It depends on two things: platform access in Florida and whether the platform lists the market. Both are in the Where things stand box, and our Florida status guide explains the state's position.
