The Heat open at home against Minnesota on October 21 with Giannis Antetokounmpo on the roster. How Heat game, season and title contracts work, what moves them and where Florida stands.

The short answer

Miami Heat prediction markets are event contracts on Heat games and season outcomes. Each one is priced between $0 and $1, so the price reads as a probability. The Heat open 2026-27 at home against Minnesota on Wednesday, October 21. ProphetX, Kalshi and Polymarket US carry the status "Available" in Florida (as of October 3, 2026).

Where things stand

  • First game: Minnesota Timberwolves at Miami Heat, Wednesday, October 21, 2026, 7:30 p.m. ET, Kaseya Center, on ESPN. It is also the home opener.
  • League start: the NBA season tips off on Tuesday, October 20. Miami is not in that tripleheader.
  • The roster: Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bobby Portis arrived from Milwaukee in a trade made official on July 6, 2026. Bam Adebayo, Andrew Wiggins, Klay Thompson, Tim Hardaway Jr. and Davion Mitchell are on the roster. Erik Spoelstra is the head coach.
  • Last season: 43-39, 10th in the Eastern Conference.
  • Florida status: Kalshi, Polymarket US, OG and ProphetX carry the status Available (as of October 3, 2026). No Florida enforcement action against prediction markets was found; the governor questioned in February 2026 whether they conflict with the Seminole compact, and Florida's gaming regulator says online sports gaming outside the Seminole Tribe's sportsbooks is "most likely" illegal, without naming prediction markets. Our Florida status guide has the detail.

What kinds of Heat contracts exist?

Listings change through the season. Check the app for current listings. The common types:

  • Game contracts. Will the Heat win tonight? ProphetX lists Moneyline, Spread and Total markets on NBA games.
  • Season contracts. Regular-season wins over or under a number, playoff qualification, seeding.
  • Futures. Eastern Conference champion. NBA champion. Priced all season.
  • Player markets. Where listed, contracts on individual stats or awards. Our Florida player props guide covers these.

Every contract trades between 1 cent and 99 cents. Example: a contract priced at 62 cents implies about a 62% chance. That is an example, not a Heat price. For the mechanics, see how a contract works, step by step, and for the other teams, every Florida team's prediction markets.

How do you read a Heat price before you trade?

  • Read the settlement rules. Two contracts that sound alike can settle differently. Does the Play-In count as "making the playoffs"? The rules page says.
  • Check volume and the spread. A busy title market tells you more than a thin player market where one order moves the price.
  • Know what moves it. Injuries. Trades. Rest days. A new star changes every Heat price on the board, and nobody has seen this roster play a game that counts.
  • Compare exchanges. Each platform runs its own order book, so the same outcome can trade at slightly different prices. A small gap is usually liquidity, and fees can erase it.

Can you trade Heat contracts from Florida?

The Florida status line at the top of this page applies to every contract here: Kalshi, Polymarket US, OG and ProphetX carry the status Available (as of October 3, 2026).

One newer filing to know. On October 8, 2026 the Seminole Tribe sued DraftKings in Broward County circuit court, arguing that its sports prediction-market contracts are sports betting that only the Tribe may offer in Florida. The four exchanges above are not defendants in that case, and the status above was not re-checked after it was filed.

The national picture is unsettled. Three petitions asking the Supreme Court to review appeals-court rulings on sports event contracts (Nos. 26-299, 26-338 and 26-344) are pending, and none has been granted. So check the status again before you trade.

Kalshi's and Polymarket US's minimum age is 18. ProphetX's is 18, or the local age of majority if higher. OG's partner terms state no minimum age, so check its sign-up screen. We recommend 21+.

What do Heat trades cost in fees?

  • ProphetX: 2% of net gains per market on straight trades.
  • Kalshi: a transaction fee on the expected earnings of a contract, charged when a trade executes and shown on the order ticket.
  • Polymarket US: Since October 2026 Polymarket US charges a taker fee on orders that fill straight away, worked out from the price: on standard markets it is highest for contracts near 50 cents (about $1.74 per 100 contracts) and falls toward 1 cent and 99 cents. Orders that rest on the book pay no fee; rebates on them are limited to very high-volume traders from October 19, 2026.
