Prediction Market Deposits and Withdrawals in Florida
What it costs and how long it takes to move money into and out of five prediction market platforms, and why your balance and your withdrawable cash can differ.
The short answer
Funding a prediction market account runs on three separate clocks: when a deposit shows in your balance, when that money becomes withdrawable, and when a withdrawal reaches your bank. Bank transfers usually carry no platform fee and take longest. Cards are faster and can cost more. Check the fee, the hold and the payout route first.

Where things stand
- Florida status: Kalshi, Polymarket US, OG, ProphetX and Novig are Available (as of October 8, 2026) to eligible Florida residents. We found no Florida enforcement action against prediction markets. The state's gaming regulator says online sports gaming outside the Seminole Tribe's sportsbooks is "most likely" illegal, and it does not name prediction markets. Our Florida status guide has the detail.
- Smallest deposit: $10 on Kalshi and ProphetX, and $10 for a card, Apple Pay or Google Pay deposit on OG. Polymarket US and Novig do not state a general minimum in their help pages.
- Deposits with no platform fee: bank transfer on Kalshi, OG and Novig. Polymarket US lists no deposit fee for any method.
- Deposits with a platform fee: Kalshi says debit card deposits may carry a 2% processing fee, and PayPal deposits after the first can cost up to 2%. Novig charges 3% on credit card, debit card and Apple Pay deposits.
- Withdrawals: Kalshi and Polymarket US charge no withdrawal fee. OG charges nothing for ACH and 1.5% for an instant real-time payment. Novig has a $10 minimum withdrawal. ProphetX's help pages do not state a withdrawal fee.
- Holds: Polymarket US releases a card or bank deposit for withdrawal once it has fully cleared, typically 3 to 4 business days. Kalshi can hold a card or bank deposit for up to 2 days after it settles when you withdraw to a different method.
- Bank holidays ahead: the Federal Reserve's remaining 2026 holidays are October 12, November 11, November 26 and December 25.
- Platform scope: ProphetX is built around sports.

How do deposits compare on each platform?
Every figure below comes from the platform's own help pages. Your account can show different limits, so the deposit screen is the final word for your transaction.
| Platform | Deposit methods | Minimum | Platform fee |
|---|---|---|---|
| Kalshi | Bank transfer (ACH), debit card including Apple Pay and Google Pay, PayPal, Venmo, Cash App, crypto, wire | $10; wire $1,000 | Bank transfer and wire: none. Debit card: may carry a 2% processing fee. PayPal: first deposit free, later ones up to 2% |
| Polymarket US | Debit card, bank transfer (ACH), Apple Pay, PayPal, Venmo, USDC where available, wire | Wire $5,000; no other minimum stated | None listed |
| OG | Linked bank account, ACH, wire, PayPal, Venmo, debit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, crypto through Mesh | $10 for card, Apple Pay and Google Pay, with a $10,000 monthly limit | None from OG. Your card issuer or bank may charge its own fee, and crypto network fees apply |
| ProphetX | Debit card (Visa or Mastercard, no credit cards), Apple Pay, Google Pay, cash at a retail store, online banking through Aeropay, EDGE Boost transfer, crypto, wire | $10; EDGE Boost $100; wire $1,000 | Not stated, apart from EDGE Boost being free |
| Novig | Bank transfer, stablecoin or crypto, credit or debit card, Apple Pay | Not stated | Bank transfer and crypto: none. Credit card, debit card and Apple Pay: 3% |
A few details are easy to miss. Kalshi's Cash App option works for deposits only, and Kalshi says PayPal and Venmo may not be offered in every state, so use another method if you do not see them. Kalshi also says a credit card may be processed, but the fee can vary and your issuer may add a cash advance charge. Kalshi, Polymarket US, OG and ProphetX all require the bank account, card or wallet to be in your own name.
How do withdrawals compare on each platform?

|---|---|---|---|---|
| Kalshi | Bank transfer, debit card, PayPal, Venmo, crypto | None | Bank: within a few business days. Debit card: typically a few hours. Crypto: typically within 30 minutes | A personal daily withdrawal limit applies. Crypto withdrawals need a prior crypto deposit |
| Polymarket US | Debit card, bank transfer, Apple Pay, PayPal or Venmo, USDC where available. Wire only through support | None | Debit card and bank: 3 to 4 business days | Money goes back to the method it came from, oldest deposit first |
| OG | ACH or real-time payment (RTP) to a linked bank account | ACH: none. RTP: 1.5% | RTP: typically within minutes. ACH: can take several business days | $1 minimum per transfer. The bank account name must match your OG account |
| ProphetX | Online banking through Aeropay, debit card, paper check, wire | Not stated | Up to 24 hours for approval, then 1 to 5 business days. Some banks get instant Aeropay payouts. Checks take 7 to 14 days | Debit card: $10 to $50,000, and only to a card you have already deposited with. Wire: $5,000 or more |
| Novig | Bank transfer, debit card, Venmo | Not stated | Not stated | $10 minimum. Identity verification must be complete first. No playthrough requirement |
Why is your balance bigger than the amount you can withdraw?
Because the number at the top of the app can include money that has not finished arriving. Kalshi often credits part of a bank deposit straight away so you can trade, while the transfer itself typically settles within 5 business days. Polymarket US calls this "funds in flight": you can trade with them, and you cannot withdraw them until the deposit has fully cleared.
Two more things reduce the withdrawable amount. Money in an open position stays locked until you sell the contract or it settles. And a security hold can apply to the deposit itself. On Kalshi the hold covers only the amount you deposited, so settled profit above that amount can be withdrawn. Kalshi's withdrawal screen shows when each deposit becomes available, which is more reliable than any general estimate.
One warning from Kalshi's own help page: if a bank deposit fails or is returned after part of it was credited, the credited amount is taken back, and your balance can go negative if you already traded with it. Make sure the bank account has the full amount before you start the transfer.
How long does a bank transfer take?
ACH is the electronic network that moves money between US banks and credit unions. The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau says an ACH payment can take days to complete. Nacha, which runs the network's rules, describes the route: the sending bank passes the payment to an ACH operator, which sorts it and delivers it to the receiving bank. A platform marking a withdrawal as sent and your bank posting it are two different events.
Business days are the unit that matters. Kalshi's help page says weekends and bank holidays do not count toward its settlement estimate, and ProphetX notes that requests made on holiday weekends can take longer. These are the remaining Federal Reserve holidays in 2026:
| Date | Federal Reserve holiday | FedACH processing resumes (ET) | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|---|
| Monday, October 12 | Columbus Day | October 12, 5:30 p.m. | A transfer requested on Friday crosses a three-day gap |
| Wednesday, November 11 | Veterans Day | November 11, 5:30 p.m. | A midweek pause adds a day to a bank transfer |
| Thursday, November 26 | Thanksgiving Day | November 26, 5:30 p.m. | Your bank's own posting schedule can add more time |
| Friday, December 25 | Christmas Day | December 27, 5:30 p.m. | The holiday runs into the weekend |
The dates come from the Federal Reserve's holiday schedule. If you need money by a certain day, request the withdrawal several business days early.
What does it cost to move money in and out?
The pattern is the same across platforms: the slow route is free and the fast route costs more. A bank transfer carries no platform fee on Kalshi, OG or Novig. A card deposit may cost 2% on Kalshi and costs 3% on Novig. On OG, an ACH withdrawal is free and an instant RTP withdrawal costs 1.5%, so taking out $200 by RTP costs $3.
Your own bank or card issuer can add a charge that the platform does not control. OG says so directly on its debit card page.
Moving money and trading are charged separately. Each platform also has trading fees, which our Kalshi fees guide and Polymarket US fees guide explain, and the comparison page puts side by side.
How do you withdraw without surprises?
- Look at the withdrawable amount. It is the figure on the withdrawal screen, which can be lower than your balance.
- Check where the money is allowed to go. Polymarket US sends withdrawals back to the original funding source, oldest deposit first. Its own example: deposit $100 by debit card and later $200 by bank transfer, and the first $100 you withdraw returns to the card. ProphetX pays out to a debit card only after you have deposited with that card.
- Read the fee and the estimated arrival on the confirmation screen before you submit.
- Keep the amount, date and reference number. Watch the platform status and your bank account. They answer different questions.
- If the payout fails, call your bank or card issuer with those details. Kalshi says money that cannot be delivered returns to your Kalshi balance. Polymarket US tells users whose deposit method is no longer active to contact its support. Do not assume every platform handles a failed payout the same way.
Finish identity verification early. Novig holds withdrawals until verification is complete, and Kalshi says a crypto withdrawal may require document verification.
Which platforms can Florida residents fund?
In our order: Kalshi, then Polymarket US, then OG, then ProphetX for sports, with Novig after them. The minimum age on Kalshi, Polymarket US and OG is 18; we recommend 21+. ProphetX's is 18, or the local age of majority if higher; we recommend 21+. Novig's minimum age is 21.
I have funded each platform here with about $200, made roughly 10 to 50 trades depending on the platform, and withdrawn. The lesson that stuck is the one in this guide: the balance, the withdrawable amount and the bank posting are three different things.
Only deposit money you can afford to lose. Rent, bills and emergency savings do not belong in a trading account.

Frequently asked questions
Why is my balance larger than the amount I can withdraw?
A deposit that has not fully cleared, a security hold or money in an open position all reduce the withdrawable amount. The withdrawal screen shows the figure that counts for your account.
Which deposit method has no platform fee?
Bank transfer carries no platform fee on Kalshi, OG and Novig, and Polymarket US lists no deposit fee. Card deposits are where fees appear: Kalshi says they may carry 2%, and Novig charges 3% on cards and Apple Pay.
How long does a prediction market withdrawal take?
It depends on the method. Kalshi says bank withdrawals arrive within a few business days and debit card withdrawals typically within a few hours. Polymarket US lists 3 to 4 business days for card and bank. ProphetX says most are processed within 24 hours and some take up to 5 business days.
Can I withdraw to a different account than the one I deposited from?
Not everywhere. Polymarket US returns money to the original funding source, oldest deposit first. ProphetX pays out to a debit card only if you have deposited with it. Kalshi allows a different method, with a hold of up to 2 days after a card or bank deposit settles.
What happens if a withdrawal goes to a closed bank account?
Contact your bank or card issuer with the amount, the date and the reference number. Kalshi says a payout that cannot be completed returns to your Kalshi balance. Other platforms handle it through their support teams.
What is the smallest amount I can deposit?
Kalshi and ProphetX set a $10 minimum, and OG sets $10 for card, Apple Pay and Google Pay deposits. Wires start much higher: $1,000 on Kalshi and ProphetX and $5,000 on Polymarket US.
Can Florida residents fund these accounts?
Access is a status, not a blanket legal ruling. The status for each platform is in the Where things stand box, and our Florida status guide explains what the state's gaming regulator has and has not said.
