NFL 2026 Prediction Markets: Dolphins, Bucs & Jaguars Weeks 1–2

    Key takeaways
    • You can exit before the game ends. A contract bought at 40¢ can be sold at 70¢ at halftime — no hold-to-settlement, no cash-out haircut set by the house.
    • Pricing is a two-sided order book, not a bookmaker margin. Both sides of a liquid NFL game usually sum close to $1.00.
    • Sign-up is 21+ on a futures exchange, versus 21+ for Florida sports betting.
    • Florida has no state income tax, so any net gain only reaches your federal return.

The 2026 NFL season kicks off Wednesday, September 9, when the defending champion Seattle Seahawks host the New England Patriots, with the bulk of Week 1 playing Sunday, September 13. For Florida traders that opening stretch is the first real liquidity of the year: three in-state teams play inside the first two weekends, and event-contract exchanges list a market on every one of those games.

This guide covers what is actually tradable — game winners, spreads, season win totals and championship futures — how the first two weeks set up for the Dolphins, Buccaneers and Jaguars, and which roster changes are most likely to move prices before kickoff.

Why Floridians trade NFL contracts instead of betting them

Florida has exactly one legal online sportsbook, Hard Rock Bet, under the Seminole compact. Prediction markets sit outside that framework entirely: Kalshi and Polymarket US operate as CFTC-registered Designated Contract Markets, so an NFL game contract is a federally regulated derivative rather than a state-licensed wager. Practical differences that matter to a trader:

    • You can exit before the game ends. A contract bought at 40¢ can be sold at 70¢ at halftime — no hold-to-settlement, no cash-out haircut set by the house.
    • Pricing is a two-sided order book, not a bookmaker margin. Both sides of a liquid NFL game usually sum close to $1.00.
    • Sign-up is 21+ on a futures exchange, versus 21+ for Florida sports betting.
    • Florida has no state income tax, so any net gain only reaches your federal return.

Week 1 and Week 2: the three Florida teams

    TeamWeek 1 — Sun Sep 13Week 2 — Sun Sep 20
Miami Dolphinsat Las Vegas Raiders (Allegiant Stadium)at San Francisco 49ers (Levi's Stadium)
Tampa Bay Buccaneersat Cincinnati Bengals (Paycor Stadium)vs Cleveland Browns (Raymond James Stadium)
Jacksonville Jaguarsvs Cleveland Browns (EverBank Stadium)at Denver Broncos (Empower Field)

Always confirm kickoff times on the official team schedule pages before trading — the league flexes windows, and a Sunday-afternoon slot can move to primetime.

Miami Dolphins — the most uncertain price on the board

Miami enters 2026 after the most aggressive roster reset of any Florida team: the club released Tua Tagovailoa in the offseason, absorbing a record cap hit, and also moved on from Tyreek Hill and Bradley Chubb. Malik Willis, signed in March, is the starting quarterback, with Quinn Ewers behind him. Jaylen Waddle and De'Von Achane are the offense's remaining proven producers.

For a trader, that combination — new quarterback, gutted receiver room, two road games to open — is why Dolphins contracts tend to be priced wide and to move fast on early-drive information. Opening weekend is where uncertainty premium is highest and where a disciplined limit order is worth more than speed.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers — continuity minus a franchise receiver

Baker Mayfield returns under Todd Bowles, which is the cleanest continuity story in the state. The complication is Mike Evans leaving in free agency for San Francisco after twelve seasons; Emeka Egbuka is the player Tampa expects to absorb that target share. Tampa opens on the road at Cincinnati before its home opener against Cleveland.

Jacksonville Jaguars — coming off 13–4

Jacksonville is the Florida team the market respects most right now, entering year two of the Liam Coen and James Gladstone partnership after a 13–4 season. Trevor Lawrence is the starter. The variable to watch is Travis Hunter, who lost the back half of 2025 to an LCL injury and returned to camp with the front office signalling a heavier cornerback workload rather than full two-way duty. Season win-total contracts on Jacksonville are among the more actively quoted Florida markets.

    What markets are actually listed

    • Game winner — the core weekly contract. Resolves $1 or $0 on the final score.
    • Spreads and totals — offered on many games as separate yes/no contracts.
    • Season win totals — 'will the Dolphins win more than X games' style contracts that stay live all year.
    • Division, conference and Super Bowl LXI futures — Kalshi lists its championship market under a 2027 label because the game is played in February 2027.
    • Awards — MVP and similar season-long markets, typically thinner and wider than game markets.

Depth varies a lot by platform and by week. Check the live book before assuming a Florida-team contract is liquid; a 1¢ spread on a primetime game can be 6¢ on a Week 2 season win total.

    A simple opening-weekend approach

    1. 1.Fund before Thursday. ACH can take a day or two to clear and Week 1 pricing is at its softest early in the week.
    2. 2.Price the news, not the narrative. Roster losses like Hill and Evans are already in the line by kickoff; the edge is in what the market has not repriced, such as a late injury report.
    3. 3.Use limit orders on anything outside a marquee game. Crossing a 5¢ spread is a 5% cost before fees.
    4. 4.Size season win totals smaller than game contracts — your capital is locked for four months.
    5. 5.Set a weekly budget and stop. Prediction markets are still risk capital, not income.
